Laurel Manor is a senior housing community incorporating universal design features to encourage social interaction, foster community, promote mental and physical activity, and ultimately allow residents to age-in-place so they may live independently for longer. The building wraps a large courtyard that includes a variety of outdoor spaces for recreation and social activity for inter-generational shared use. Vancouver Housing Authority envisions future multi-family housing sharing the Laurel Manor courtyard, creating a multi-generational development.
