SENIOR HOUSING & MEAL PREP SPACE IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN
KWA Tahoma Place | TACOMA, WA
Tahoma Place is a six-story, 88-unit apartment building serving seniors and veterans in Washington, including 20 furnished units for residents exiting homelessness. The building offers studio and one-bedroom apartments designed with universal design and visitability features: ADA-accessible bathrooms, roll-in showers, handrails, slip-resistant flooring, adjustable cabinets, and nurse-call systems.
Resident amenities include a community living room, lounge, top-floor exercise room, outdoor deck, and raised garden beds. On-site services are provided by KWA, including healthcare and food assistance, social programming, and educational and recreational classes in the 2,300 SF learning center. A portion of the building supports KWA’s industrial kitchen for meal preparation and distribution within the community.
This project reflects a collaborative design and construction effort to provide safe, accessible, and supportive housing for residents with the greatest need.
