Coal Creek Natural Area

BELLEVUE, WA

Our landscape team continues to work with the City of Bellevue in developing its signage, kiosk and trail standards within Coal Creek Park. To reflect the mining history of the area, design elements include heavy timber and rustic materials such as corrugated steel roofing and industrial welded brackets. These trail systems specialize in urban hiking and wildlife viewing, while reflecting on the mining history of the last century. In addition to design standards throughout Coal Creek Park, our Landscape Architecture team designed the Red Town stairs and kiosks, the Primrose Trail bridge restoration, and the trailhead at Forest Drive.

This project was designed by Barker Landscape Architects (now with Environmental Works).
