West Seattle Community Resource Center

This mixed use project consists of a floor of underground parking, a floor of social service space for the food bank and other agencies, and three floors of affordable family housing. The housing is focused around a central courtyard (built above the food bank) to provide opportunities for community building among the families who live on site. The south facing courtyard provides a light filled, quiet oasis in the city for a project that is on a major thoroughfare. The tight urban site presents further challenges because of existing poor soils conditions and shoring requirements. The project has been designed to meet a LEED Silver rating.
