Katharine's Place provides new housing for 26 families with low incomes and disabilities, located in South Seattle adjacent to the planned Sound Transit light rail line. The project is a combination of one, two and three bedroom units, of which 16 units are permanent housing and 10 units are transitional. The four floors of housing are organized around a south facing courtyard which provides a common outdoor space and play area for the residents. The project is named after St. Katharine Drexel, a Catholic saint who devoted her life to social justice for African Americans and Native Americans.
